6 Self-love Principles To Practice Daily

1. Perception - how we see ourselves. When we want to heal ourselves we must learn to see ourselves with unconditional positive regard - no judgements, no shame and no resentment. We are perfect exactly as we are - nothing external will ever be able to add or remove value from us.

2. Acceptance - making peace with the past. The most powerful healing benefits of self-love can come from removing the judgements we hold towards ourselves and we do this by accepting that everything that has happened so far has shaped us into who we are today. It was necessary for our journey.

3. Meditation - checking in with ourselves. Being present with ourselves is a key component of self-love as it allows us to observe the thoughts that dominate our minds - which is what our reality is based on. Checking in with ourselves regularly allows us to make sure we’re on the path we resonate with the most.

4. Health - nourishing the body & mind. Self-love requires us to exercise and feed the body with the foods that are of the most benefit to us - feeding the body toxic drugs & processed foods is the opposite of self-love. When we embark on the healing journey we must take responsibility for how we think & feel and act in the way that serves our highest good.

5. Creativity - allowing our emotions to be expressed. Drawing, singing, dancing and cooking are all forms of self-love because we’re allowing our emotions to be freely expressed. Emotions are energy in motion and when we trap them within the body they can manifest in poor mental & physical health - hence why it’s important for them to be expressed in one form or another.

6. Positive energy - choosing the people, places & things that make us feel good. Loving ourselves means refusing to settle for unfulfilling relationships & only spending time with those who deserve a place in our lives. We are worthy of being surrounded by those who make us feel good and we do not have to settle for anything less.
